Common Maryland Drivers Ed Questions:

Answered.

Q: How do I get a learners permit?

A: You must go to the MVA and take a computerized or written test and pass it.  You must prove who you are and that you are a resident of Maryland.  If you are under 18, you must have an adult parent or guardian co-sign for you.  The documents you must bring can be found on mva.maryland.gov , but typically include: social security card, birth certificate from the bureau of vital statistics, and two proofs of residency, ie. bills mailed to your address, bank statements, school documents with your home address listed, etc.

A: Most "good" Driver's Education schools in Maryland are $400-$500 (this cost increases with inflation over time).

Good means they have enough instructors and driving hours available to finish driving within 18 weeks of the first day of class.  Good means they don't do classes virtually and then expect students to find other schools to do the driving hours.
